Doug Clay serves as the General Superintendent for the General Council of the Assemblies of God. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he brings a clear vision and a strong passion for church health. Doug firmly believes the church is the primary instrument God uses to expand His Kingdom here on Earth. That’s why he has devoted himself fully to the cause of resourcing ministries and churches for health and growth. His life and work are driven by the truth of Paul’s insight written to the Christians in Ephesus: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). Clay’s chief goal in life is to help people realize their God-given dreams.
Prior to taking office as the General Treasurer, Doug served as superintendent of the Ohio Ministry Network from June 2004 to 2008. He was pastor of Calvary Assembly of God in Toledo, Ohio, from 1997 to 2004. He has also served as the Assemblies of God national youth director (1995-1997), Ohio District youth director (1989-1995) and as a youth pastor in Ohio and Iowa.
Doug and his wife, Gail, have two daughters and a son-in-law. He enjoys golf, racquetball, reading, and sharing a latte with friends. Follow Clay on Twitter.
